This is an exciting opportunity in Columbus, Indiana for a talented Program Director Supply Chain Planning to lead, manage and strategically direct continuous improvement and transformation activities for Supply Chain at Cummins .

The Global Supply Chain is comprised of six functions including Corporate Health & Safety, Business Process Transformation, Manufacturing, Parts & Supply Chain Operations, Procurement and Quality. It is through the work and collaboration of the Supply Chain with our Business and Corporate entities that enables us to continue to power the global supply chain.

​​​Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Serve as global process architect for the Plan-to-Build value stream within aftermarket and first-fit supply chains

  • Work with functions on process design and improvement with a lens to how a given process interacts with a broader value stream, driving efficiency and eliminating hand-offs where possible

  • Drive cross-functional alignment of transformation and improvement activities within the process areas of plan-to-build

  • Drive prioritization where conflict exists by addressing issues and gaps

  • Leads, manages, and strategically directs the project management department activities for assigned functional areas.

  • Partners with business leaders to identify short and long-term projects to be undertaken; directs needs analysis in collaboration with business leaders to determine project timelines; oversees analysis, project identification, design, budget, communication, and integration; approves business workflow and project design.

  • Directs the assessment of business needs, Project Manager capabilities and available project budgets.

  • Secures senior leadership sponsorship of projects and approval of objectives; keeps business leadership apprised of project status and developments; monitors project success measures and understands the status of specific projects and assignments.

  • Develops, leads, and motivates project management staff; sets goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.

  • Formulates annual operational and financial budgets as they relate to unit objectives.

  • Coaches and mentors Project Management Managers and Project Managers; delegates project assignments based on availability, ability, and developmental needs; provides developmental feedback to team members; coaches other Project Managers in managing teams.

  • Global process architect for Plan to Build end-to-end value chain

  • Partner with regional, functional and BU supply chain leaders to drive improved performance of Plan to Build value stream as part of Supply Chain transformation and operating model implementation

  • Lead process design and value stream mapping activities in partnership with functional teams to identify bottlenecks, improve efficiency and eliminate hand-offs where possible within the Plan to Build value chain

  • Lead prioritization and cross-functional alignment of transformation and improvement activities across all functions that impact Plan to Build processes

  • Create and implement KPI's for measuring performance of the Plan to Build value stream

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree required

Green Belt certification required

Compensation and Benefits

Base annual salary commensurate with experience plus annual variable compensation.
