Logistics Coordinator

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Order Management: Coordinate and monitor the movement of products from suppliers to the company, as well as from the company to customers. Ensure that orders are processed, tracked, and delivered on time.

  2. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, track product shelf life, and manage inventory turnover. Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure sufficient stock levels.

  3. Transportation Coordination: Arrange transportation for inbound and outbound shipments, considering cost-effectiveness, delivery timelines, and compliance with safety regulations.

  4. Customs Compliance: Familiarize yourself with international customs regulations and ensure that shipments comply with all relevant import/export requirements. Handle necessary documentation and permits.

  5. Vendor Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and logistics service providers to negotiate favorable terms and rates.

  6. Quality Assurance: Monitor the condition of products during transit and storage to ensure they meet quality standards. Report any issues and implement corrective measures.

  7. Cost Control: Optimize logistics operations to minimize costs while maintaining service quality. Analyze transportation expenses and seek cost-saving opportunities.

  8. Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.

  9. Reporting: Generate regular reports on logistics performance, inventory levels, and cost analysis to management.

  10. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and recommend enhancements to streamline logistics

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred

Experience

  • Proven experience in logistics and supply chain management

  • Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and customs procedures

  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools, such as ERP systems and transportation management software

  • Business level of Japanese and English
